anyone fancy a Bf109 cockpit?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/MESSERSCHMITT-FIGHTER-AIRCRAFT-SERIES-F-COCKPIT_W0QQitemZ6571105167QQcategoryZ14050QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

doesnt smell like completely original, but it’s surely an interesting item, the price is absolutely insane though..

The whole thing is fabricated, perhaps some OEM equipment bolted in, but there is no way a’tall that this is an authentic Messerschmitt cockpit. No way, no how.

Here’s what a REAL 109F cockpit looks like, from my site:

“Messerschmitt AG” stamps on the metal, eh? *stifles a chuckle*

to me that actually looks like an Emil or similar..

Alex

It is a Franz but there also should be a lot more of holes and instruments/switches around. Who would fill the necessary holes during a restauration? Also the shape of the panels doesn´t look exactly like the original one. Beside the moderate instrumentation is faulty. There should be at least the Fl 23334 Fuehrertochterkompass at the place of the FK38 Kompass, like the Emil had.
Here´s a nice picture showing he manufacture of F panels. Interestingly the Fuehrertochterkompass had been censored 😀

Well, I can tell from the pictures that the instrument panel is a repro, and the sidewalls seem to be too. The gunsight, control grip and some of the instruments seem to be original….you can get that stuff for about EUR 2500,-that´s it 🙁

We are offering for sale the actual “flying office” or cockpit from a World War Two German Messerchmitt Series F fighter aircraft. This totally original cockpit is complete and includes all the features to be expected from the pilot’s seat forward e.g. armored windshield, etc. We stress that the cockpit has not been restored or altered but is in its factory state. The machine gun and cannon ammunition counters with the reflective gunsight are also included in the instrument display. Maintenance records accompanying the cockpit indicate that it was assembled in Austria at the Weiner Neustadter-Flugzeugwerke G.m.b.H.

To the best of our research this cockpit section was the property of the Canadian Research Council, released for sale by Crown Assets. In examining the structure there is a Messerschmitt AG stamp on the inside skin of one of the aluminum panels. All the gauges and instruments panels etc. are correctly stamped and marked.

Dream on.

It all looks clinically clean to me…. no wiring, brackets etc.

(Just the sort of thing somebody made themselves ?)

But i’ve ‘asked seller a question’ to provide some more photo’s especially exterior shots, which i’ll post here ~if~ he responds.

Is this what you want for an early christmaspresent Alex?

The question is: How many forummembers are going to run to the bank to check their account? It looks great, but as you said, it is doubtfull that this cocpit is fully authentical ass stated in the add.

I wonder if he is going to sell this.
