RR and all the forum members who came,
What a great afternoon it was. The pilots had their hands full with the crosswind but we only lost the Great warbirds guys who were stuck at Shoreham with even more wind than we had along with Alan Cassidy whose CAP232 had a problem that meant that aerobatics were just not possible on safety grounds. Everyone flew magnificently for all of us and I doubt if anyone went home feeling they had not had a great time. I did for sure though I really itched at times to be up there too. Perhaps next year……!!
Dave Poile and his family did a fantastic job as ever and I am certain Pudsey meandered home well satisfied. A big thank you to all who made the day such a huge success – this despite the appallingly wet August which has made the farming community in East Anglia suffer enormously.
Looking forward to a dryer 2005.
Cheers,
Trapper 69
PS – Dave Evans, the CAA airshow inspector, went off chuckling: I think he enjoyed his day too.

very many many thanks for such an excellent day Skybolt…… and long may it continue.

I’d echo those sentiments Reginald. My son and I had a great time and are already looking forward to next year.

I attach a picture of Janie as a taster before the forum’s serious photographers get home.

Can’t make it this year either. I’m taking part in a 21-ship Pup and Bulldog flypast at North Weald on Sunday afternoon.

Great event, well worth supporting. Hope to make it there next year.

Hope it goes well for you, all the best Anna 😉 🙂

I will be there from around 0930 and wearing a rather fetching Aussie stetson with “hair conditioning” mesh. My uncle, a retired WW2 Luftwaffe Ritter Kreutz trager Oberst will also be there inspecting the (Aussie designed though Slepchev is hardly a diggers surname) Fieseler Storch which is to make its maiden airshow debut in the afternoon. Do not return any form of salute in case of offence………either way…!!
The meeting time coincides with the airshow brief so have a jar for me as I will be otherwise engaged. Hope to meet some of you during the day.
Cheers,

PS – As of 1130 today, Saturday, no phone calls of any nature other than expected and boring ones have arrived………..Sod it……………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you were telling Skybolt not to put his phone number on here 😉 I should be there by 12.00 if not I’ve put your number in my phone and I’ll send you a text.

Ah yes, but then he replied saying he lives in hope of having random damsels calling him. So I reckon if that approach is good enough for Skybolt, it’s good enough for me… 😉

I’m friendly as long as I’m kept fed with beer. 😉

RV Point appears to be the beer tent (actually a couple of trestle tables in a hangar) at 1200. I’ll certainly be there along with JN-4 (if I can tear her away from the blimmin AN-2…). We might be back there for refills at about 1400 as well. Rest of the time we’ll be wandering round going ooh and aah at old aeroplanes, gathering stragglers, and generally talking sh1te. So if anyone wants to tag along, give me a bell or text on 07766 017822.

I did think about suggesting it a while ago, as the original plan was to go to Shoreham (where Beagle had a factory) as well. But that fell through because of the air show this weekend.

We’ve got a limited DA, which applies only to North Weald. Next year, you never know! We’ll have had a lot more practice by then, but we’ll probably not assemble so many aircraft until the Beagle Pup and Bulldog Club celebrates its next anniversary. It was the 21st this year – hence the 21 aircraft.

Certainly a nice entry for the Log Book. BTW, our Yak is at Gransden awaiting the paperwork for its annual, so I’m sort of there in spirit! I’m down to ferry it back to Sarfend when its ready.
