With the dollar Pound rate being so good for the Brits at the moment. Has anyone from the UK made a trip across the pond and taken the time to buy Camera gear? Was it worth it? would you do it again? Have you had any good/ bad experiences?
Is a trip to say New York a good location for buying gear. Anyone got names of good retailers worth a visit.

Depends what sort of equipement you want. Digital gear?
I ask since a local Jessops to me had two Nikon F4s in ex++ condition for £360 each last Friday – and today that price has dropped by another £35. It is because nobody wants a film camera, and you can get some really good gear now.
