Anyone got any End of the Airshow season thoughts and memories to share?

I just want to say a open thank you to all the Pilots and ground crew’s involved in this years Airshow season for bringing us some great memories and for providing a Second SAFE UK Airshow season in a row.
My highlights were as followed,

1)Ray Hanna closing another Biggin Hill Airshow in September, Its impossible to watch without being inspired and having a tear or two in your eyes.
2)Delta team’s 2 Hunters and a Gnat at Biggin.
3)TFC’s Hawk a type i would never have dreamed of seeing a few years ago.
4)Flying Legends having the London VE and VJ Day flypast as part of show, This gave the chance to see 2 B-17’s and 2 B-25’s in formation something i thought was magical.
5)TFC’s P-51C Flying again and performing in a amazing duo routine at Legend’s.
6)Seeing the F-86 and T-33 together again they look great together.

I’m sure theres many more highlights i have failed to write down here, Sadly all these mean far less because we lost Steve and because of Accidents in other countries this year.

Taking Luftwaffe nightfighter ace Peter Spoden to Hendon and seeing the look on his face when he saw an Me.110 again for the first time since 1945. Listening to him and B-17 pilot Norm Rosholt swap stories as newly found friends.

Not so much an ‘airshow’ memory, but I was lucky enough to fly to Jersey in the A.A.C.F. Dakota ‘RA, for the Liberation celebrations in May and was able to take my seven year old son, Benjamin as well.
This was his first ever flight and to do it in a Dak and to go to Jersey,a place that holds many happy memories , was absolutely fantastic.
Thanks to the crew we were able to visit the flight deck and see the great view from ‘the front’!
And to top off an unforgetable day ,we formated with one of the flights Rapides on the way home over the channel as the sun was setting behind it.
There were a lot of ghosts with us that evening I am sure, not all of them strangers…
A truly one in a million experience, thanks to everyone who made it happen!
Alan.
‘Mr Nonchalant! nothing to this flying lark! 😎
Ben and Captain Mike Day, cheers Mike! 🙂

Spending Saturday and then Sunday morning before Legends at Cambridge with Snapper, Hadyn, Jules and Steve. The flight over the various airfields, present and past, the banter at Legends and the Red Lion afterwards.

How did we know then one of us wouldn’t be here today, discussing the season and what maybe happening in the future.

Very poignant words, he is sorely missed 🙁 Anna
