Sadly most of my old and extremely poor B&W photos were lost in clearing out my parents house, but I do have some colour photos of my brother`s on loan which I will try to dig out and post.It may take a few days.My Speke spotting days were from 1961 into 1966. Very quiet days, but you appreciated what eventually turned up.(or not as was usually the case!):D

Brilliant. Thanks.
Particularly love the one of the Fox Moth in its ‘proper’ colour.
I was a spotter at Speke from around 1960 to 1964. All my few surviving shots are B&W
Usual movements would be
A couple of DC3 from Cambrian
The Starways Viscount and a DC4 or two
The Aer Lingus F27
The Bristol Freighter, taking cars to the IOM
Plus, of course, the Fox Moth.
You going to post any of your B&W?

I have a poor one of RIR. Did you know that you can buy a model of a Starways Viscount (expensive) from
http://www.collectorsaircraft.com/ECOM_Range_old.asp?Manu=Prop-Wings
I wish that I had more colour photos of this period.

Ah those were the days seeing OJH bouncing across the grass, often the only thing to move all day! This was taken in 1969 with the cowling unpainted.

It was completely red when I flew in it from Bournemouth in 1983 – the price had gone up a bit by then !
At the time , it has just finished being filmed for a part in the film ‘Bullshot’ , which was a rather average Bulldog Drummond-style spoof.

Wow! That brings back memories.
A fifteen minute flight in the locality of Liverpool Speke airport around 1962 with my mate Frank Cross.
Best 12.5p I ever spent 🙂
Thanks.
Moggy
In those days I think it was red and cream
