Anyone have an idea what this is??

Well, of course I know that it’s a Mirage2000D 😉 but I’m much more interested in these curious bulges midway along the fuselage spine. They appear to be emitting smoke on this picture, of all things!

Given that they seem to have shown up on the aircraft only in recent years (I’m pretty sure it didn’t always have them, anyway) I would have guessed they represent some kind of EW system. It wouldn’t be the first time that the 2000D has sprung a few more such antennae afterall.

But that smoke!
