Worth having a look at the BA website if anyone is thinking of having a last scheduled trip before October retirement.
They are offering a restricted number of “discounted” packages, I think the cheapest deal is Heathrow to NY on concorde and return on 744 world traveller for £1999. For an exta £200 you can upgrade to world traveller plus on the return, more for biz class etc.
Never flown it myself although mighty tempting to go for the “cheapo” option……

Its certainly an experience you will never forget, but it is smallish inside, for someone who is 6’3.

Blimey… that’s one expensive birthday present! I doubt I’ll be getting a trip on Concorde for my 18th in June!

I flew on it to New York, from LHR. Also flew to Lapland from LHR. Its great, bit small, but I cant complain.

T5, Sadly no. There wasn’t much to see really inside anyhow. It wasn’t laid out like a normal concorde, with seats. It was laden with the actual technical equipment that was used for this prototype.

My Mum took a picture of the cockpit, but because it was behind a sheet of clear plastic, and the flash was on on the camera it didn’t come out too well. 🙁

sadly, the closest I’ve been to Concorde was the adjaecent gate at Terminal 4. 🙁

Just boarded a BA 757 to CDG, and what should pull up right next to my plane than BA004.

Dunno what I’ll do, once they’re out of service, I always have a good look out for them when landing/taking off from LHR outside the BA Hangar.

As far as I can remember, the only AF example I’ve seen was at ORY years and years ago, while driving past the perimeter fence.

This was the concorde I went on at RNAS Yeovilton.

P.s. Sorry for bad quality! 🙁

lol!

Reading over my post, it could have been phrased better! Unfortunately, just a few hours on the 747 and the rest of the time in a hotel! :p

Michael,

NO hotel? You’re sleeping on the aircraft?:) 🙂

I’d ask for some money back.

Thanks greekdude, counting down my days to my Thai trip and thought it was quite appropriate.

I got it from http://www.aerosite.net/avatar01.htm, they offer more than just 60×60 pixel avatars too… aircraft statistics, forum, full size logos and more.
