Anyone identify the airframe?

Hi Guys
Can anyone identify what airframe this piece of structure came from? We belive it was a Canberra and the section is approx 30 inch by 18 inch. The Kangaroo is approx 10 inch by 6 inch tall. Any information as always very greatfully received.

Piece of Canberra?

I agree, the curvature is too gradual to be a tip tank part. The curvature and taper would be just right for the nose forward of the canopy. On top of that, the riveting is Canberra quality.

Kangaroo on Canberra.

The background is Red, and looks the same as on RAE aircraft, but is not Dayglo. The ” visit to Australia / Woomera” idea sounds good, so, does anyone remember a Canberra that was painted in RAE type livery that made such a trip?
The diameter of the structure makes me think this must be fuselage as apposed to tip tank, would the inside of the pressurised forward fuselage be sealed with this PRC compound, especialy if an airframe had a history of not holding pressure very well?
Just thoughts.

This is a little vague but!….
The British Concorde test programe used a silver Canberra aircraft as a chase aircraft. It had a large nose probe and went all over the wold “Chasing” the British test aircraft (It could hardly keep pace could it?) At the end of its life it ended up on the dump at Farnborough where I saw it in1978-80. It had collected a large amount of “Zapps” during it’s travels, one of which was a Kangaroo.
Perhaps this might have come from that aircraft?
Can’t remember the serial number though.

It is not a RAAF Roundal but more likely a marking applied to a RAF aircraft visiting Australia, these are typically applied near the nose of an aircraft.

The background colour appears to be dayglo?

Possibly then a former WRE or RAE aircraft that had been operated in Australia / Woomera?

There were a number of English Canberra’s used at Wommera as remote controlled targets, however these were typically painted “all white”

There seems to be alot of sealant on it – possibly a droptank? The only other areas of a Canberra with curvature like that would be the tail, just forward of the tailplane, or the engine nacelles.

My guess is cranberry wing tip tank.
