After some help, need some soil and maybe a bit of loose concrete (just a sample i can post, not a truckload ) trying to help an American out who supports some veterans who were stationed there.

Sorry

Sorry didn’t spot it.

Am due at the Ridgewell museum next week as we are doing a trade – can grab something then if this isn’t too far ahead?

Can you PM your details.

Cheers

J

Jason, do you think you could acquire a little lump of concrete from there and post it to me, I will then ship it to the USA, I will cover your postage costs etc 🙂

I’ve suggested the Concrete or the eBay link kindly suggested above, he’s trying to get something from all the zones his veterans served in 🙂 wonder what customs will think of a lump of concrete coming through the post LOL, they’ll think us Brits are barking.

Which wouldn’t be detected by a geiger counter or x-ray machine?

Shouldn’t be an issue with concrete, as long as any soil is washed off.
Soil would probably need to be irradiated.

If this a problem then there is a vendor on ebay – who regularly lists items he finds at Ridgewell – see for example:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-ww2-RAF-USAAF-relic-tooth-brushes-all-US-Army-US-Service-Marked-/190833024298?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item2c6e88dd2a

but I would imagine concrete lumps wouldn’t be a problem and plenty to choose from at Ridgwell – also an active facebook group going regarding Ridgewell – see

You might fall foul of the restrictions on bringing plant matter/soil into the US…

Me too, (although I don’t actually know where the airfield is) but am happy to help.
