Here’s some old pics of Beech 18s. The quality is a bit naff, but that’s the best my scanner can manage. Sorry Philip!

Yes the three CAS photos were taken at Duxford. Remember them first arriving and causing quite a stir as they were something ‘new’ there.
I agree but only in stock configuration. I think the extended wing tip tri-gear variants have lost something in the looks department. That’ll teach me to look won’t it? I’ve just re-read the thread and realise I said much the same thing nearly two years ago.

Only found this thread due to the recent post by Howard500!
Back in March I was fortunate to attend the TICO Warbird Airshow in Florida and what Matt Younkin does with his Beech is nothing short of remarkable!
Here’s a link to the photos on my website.

The -18 is a nice looking machine until people mess about with it. Maybe I’m biased but I don’y like the look of the pointy nosed Tri gear ones with the extended wing tips those things always look as though they were a lash up fix to an aerodynamic problem.

The pix of the Japanese Beech 18 is I believe with the Japanese Coast Guard and they also got tri-gear JA5150/MA150.

Yes Phil, I did. I wonder how many realise that the banner had been draped over it as a jolly jape though? Amazing what a spot of paint and polish can acheive…:D
