In a recent issue of FlyPast (the one with the Wildcat on the cover) and the stories on the Irish Air Corps Spitfires inside (last issue for the UK, our current issue for the States)…the photo of what is alledgedly Bill Greenwood’s T.Mk.9 Spit is actually NOT that Spit at all…look closely at the photo…the rear canopy is a LOWER version of the two seat version, not the higher type two seater that Bill has…and you can just see the tops of the letters ‘SW’ on the side, which would make this the T.Mk.9 Spit ‘SW-A’, which I believe returned to the Uk recently…someone got the numbers on it? And the paint is all wrong, Greenwood’s carries much different paint than that pictured…not to mention it wears the letters/codes ‘RJ-M’…
Other than that, interesting article…and interesting to see Greenwood’s Spit in its old schemes and carrying the number ‘163’ on it’s side…

Bingo…that’s the one…flew with it AND Greenwood’s (and Price’s Hurricane and Spitfire, along with Frasca’s) at OSH in 1995…was backseating it in a Harpoon…a great ride, wish I had had better photo results…we were’nt the primary camera ship…

Although I don’t have the mag. From the description it sounds like Anthony Hodgson’s PT462. It was the former Charles Church two seater which went to Florida for a time until returned to the UK in 1998.
