I have set up a Dave Thomas Appreciation group as I don’t feel he gets the credit he deserves. He has been the Vulcan display pilot and also the Lancaster display pilot. He is also a rather nice chap to talk to. He was also intsrumental in helping return XH558 to the sky.
I just wanted to set up a group to let him know that we appreciate his contribution to the UK aviation scene (and let him know I am rather jealous that he has flown the Lanc and Vulcan)!!
Feel free to join and add photos, comments etc relating to Dave (and Mrs T!) and also the Lancaster and Vulcan.

It’s a bit late now cos I have set the group up! Sorry, but I have never sen him referred to as David, only Sqn Ldr DAVE Thomas.
It’s something I tend to remember, being called David (or Dave) myself!

For example, what was the best Display in Delta Lady that you saw Dave fly at? Have you ever met him?
I saw him at Waddington a few years back and am SOOOOO jealous, he has flown the two planes I would love to go in most.
Also we must thank Mrs T, cos behind every good man is a good woman!
So please feel free to post on there along with any nice pics too. I’ll try to find a few photos of DT for the group too if I can so everyone can see what he looks like when he isn’t throwing himself around the sky!

…however, he’s not the first Cranwell instructor to have his own facebook group though!:)
Jealousy and envy aside, a real top gent. I’m glad all his hard work finally paid off this year with the Vulcan’s return to the circuit.
