Anyone Watch – Big, Bigger, Biggest?

What a great program on 5 tonight.

All about T5 and how advanced it is, from the building design, transport systems and baggage handling. Great stuff.

Plus a short history on how airports developed over the years to deal with the jet age etc.

i watched it also… really good insight..

BUT… one thing i remeber from watching it was that the baggage system had a FULL back up in case of issues like today?

I wonder if the issues today are down to “Humans” rather the the tech..

We had a skipper convinced the other day that it was the shuttle to the ‘Captains only’ car park. Some people are so gullable.

Shame it isn’t finished for the opening!

Apparently a posse of Austrailian students with bicycle rickshaws have been employed to operate the shuttle to the Open Skies ‘Captains only’ car park…

Presumably a ‘People Pod’ not an I-Pod? Anyone got a picture?

Indeed it is a ‘People Pod’ not an I-Pod.
I found this article on the internet all about it:

One thing I did like the look of was them little ‘Pod’ things that take you from the Business car park to the terminal.

Yes I watched Big, Bigger, Biggest tonight. I thought it was a really good insight into Terminal 5. I didn’t realise how complex (and expensive) baggage systems are, I mean £250 million for the baggage system 😮
