All passengers will need some form of identification ready when they check in before travelling with a photo ID such as a passport, drivers licence, student ID card or company ID preffered

I have been asked for compulsory identification for domestic flights for about a year now. No real problem except if you do not know that a passport or driving license is required for regional flights then you are in a bit of dilemma.

John Anderson(Transport Ministe/Deputy Priminister) also announced that metal cutlery and matches and others would be not permitted inside an aircraft cabin on flights within and to and from Australia!

Simular rules were introduced in the UK at the beginning of this year. I don’t know for sure if all airlines require it yet. I actually showed my passport to fly from England to Scotland and back!
Also now at BAA airports every passenger is photographed.
