AP1086 stores ref section 5X please

Hi all,

Does anyone have a scanned (pdf / jpg) copy of Stores Ref section 5X? Hopefully from the 1950’s / 60’s, but beggars can’t be choosers.

In the attached index it is listed as: “Aircraft electrical plugs, sockets, and component parts of wiring assemblies.”

I’m trying to research part numbers and configurations of Plessey Breeeze (“standard plugs and sockets”), and also Plessey Mk4 (“miniature plugs and sockets”). I’m certain that Breeze come under section 5X (as its stamped on them), not so sure about the stores ref section of MK4’s though, may be 5X, or 10H possibly.

Cheers, Scott.

Hi Jamesinnewcastle,

Thank you so much for sharing the large Breeze manual by email.

I have replied to you…. however, as you are with hotmail, they sometimes place my emails into the spam folder, so you may need to have a check there for my reply… I think this is likely because I use my own domain scottbouch.com for emails, ie, not a common one like gmail.com etc..

Many thanks again, Scott.

Hi, I have found that in 2019, user radarsdesk shared a scan of AP1086 section 5X on this forum – someone must have a copy of it somewhere! (link to thread below)

https://www.key.aero/forum/historic-aviation/3843969-breeze-connectors?…

The filedropper download link in that thread is now dead sadly.

Cheers, Scott

Speaking of Plessey has anyone got a pic of the handle on MkV and MkIX Spitfires to operate the flares?

Hmm, can’t find how to send you a PM, so my email address is in the attached jpg.

That file would be really helpful, thank you.

Hi Scott

I don’t have that section but I do have – AP113D-1825-1 Plessey-Breeze Connectors and Technical Description and Instruction Handbook of Breeze Electrical System for Aircraft. I’ve up loaded the AP but the other is 125MB so you would need to contact me to get it.

I believe that there were 5 variants of the system over the years and I’ve never been able to make head nor tail of the various lists myself so good luck.

I need to have fully working connectors for the SBA kit that I am restoring and in the absence of any of these items I am going down the road of 3D printing the inserts, ferrules and coupling nuts. My first batch of printed parts should be arriving soon but I suspect that the road will be long as it is also my first attempt at 3D printing.

Cheers

James

There is a WW2 crossover manual that was used to do both UK and USA parts that I found online.Maybe that would help.
