AP1979A Elementary Flying Training & Log Book Codes

Can anyone provide detail (presumably in AP1979A) of the codes used in EFTS’s to describe each training sortie/exercise? (and recorded in the pilot’s logbook)

I have only a few:

No.10 (I think) spinning
No. 12 sideslipping
No. 13 precautionary landings
No. 25 formation flying

I think No.25 may be the last number used at EFTS.

Any help would be great!

The following is a list that I have compiled from various sources:

1. Air experience
2. Effect of controls
3. Taxying
4. Straight and level flying
5. Climbing, gliding and stalling
6. Medium turns (with engines)
7. Taking off (into wind)
8. Power approach and landing
9. Approach and landing
10. Spinning
11. First Solo
12. Sideslipping
13. Precautionary landings
14. Low flying (with instructor only)
15. Steep turns
16. Climbing turns
17. Forced landings
18. Action in event of fire
(a) Abandoning aircraft (by parachute)
19. Instrument flying
20. Cross wind take-off and landing
21. Stopping and restarting the engine in flight
22. Aerobatics
23. Air Navigation
24. Night Flying

It is worth noting that I have seen a number of differing lists where the exercises vary after No 22 (I think because there was no numbering system after No 22).

It would be interesting to see if others have the same list.

Regards

Pete
