Welcome fellow people.
Following my recent Global Power debates, I got interested in the new upcoming movie, Megiddo, which portrays the end of the world in biblical terms. Very cool FX!
So heres the REALLY BIG coffee-time debate. If Armageddon, or an apocalypse does occur soon, where will it be, when will it happen, and who will it involve.
Remember – this is your chance to say I TOLD YOU SO!!!…assuming your not dead….and your city isn’t a radioactive..erm…crater.
…
anyway. heres my scenario – well tagged onto the next page.
ps. please rate me! I need to be rated. Im underrated. I have no life.

RE: APOCALYPSE RISING – A GLOBAL ANALYSIS
2040 AD
The 3 biggest superpowers : China, the United States and the European Union discuss the current threat of neo-stalinist Russia. After having been betrayed and left alone by the west, Russian nationalists have taken over command, including the nuclear weapons. The Baltic States, which have joined NATO, ask for military NATO-assistance in defending its borders. The Russians, feeling unsafe with the NATO-presence in the neighbourhoud, threaten to trigger a nuclear attack on the west and China if they continue placing troops near the borders.
Sounds like a cheap Tom-Clancy novel :7

RE: APOCALYPSE RISING – A GLOBAL ANALYSIS
Twilight my fellow Cypriot you seem to be suffering from “War is good syndrome”.
All your posts recently have had a distinct war related theme or Power, Greed formula to them.
Would you like me to put you in touch with a therapist….she’s called Madam LITTLETWISTER.
regards

RE: APOCALYPSE RISING – A GLOBAL ANALYSIS
Apocalypse would mean the end of the world, so its immaterial as to where and who starts it as nobody could survive it. However, in my opinion a global scale apocalypse will not happen. I have enough faith in the survival instincts and selfishness of man- afterall that has transferred us from Cave dwellers into what we are today. We arent going to throw away millions of years of evolution for nothing.
I hope that i am right.

RE: APOCALYPSE RISING – A GLOBAL ANALYSIS
2012AD
Over a decade of hostility and conflict in the middle east culminates in multi-front war, with Arabic forces moving through Egypt, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon to attack Israel.
A massive “Scud war” will ensue, with Iran and Syria possibly choosing to assert themselves in the fray. It is worth noting that Iran WILL be fully nuclear capable by this time, and equipped with Shahab-4/5, its own answer to the Israeli Jericho-3/4.
The USA will be heavily ensued in warfare in North Korea and the Baltic States, as Russia moves to recapture its former territories, including Estonia, Latvia and Eastern Germany.
Greece, Cyprus, Syria and enraged Kurdish rebels will use Turkish involvement in the Arab multifront war as a best-opportunity chance to launch a final battle against there unanimous arch adversary, Turkey, with invasions occuring in northern Cyprus, and through east and west Turkey.
Russia, despite massive reformations of its armed forces, will gind to a halt as it is gradually defeated by US forces and NATO, but it will be in a position to put the full weight of its nuclear arsenal behind its land forces.
Nevrtheless, no nuclear war between Russia and USA will ensue. With the world in total pandomonium, North Korea will harmonise with China and Pakistan in a united full-scale assault on the axis of enemies, which form India, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
Nuclear exchanges in this area will ensue, with massive casualties sustained in Japan and Taiwan and South Korea where nuclear first strikes have demolished primary defences.
The US will respond against such attacks in kind, but not without risking the uniting of Russia and China against them in nuclear conflict.
The destruction of the Israeli state will come with the final fall of Jerusalem in a battle of apocalyptic proportions, forseen in biblical texts as Armageddon (based on the location Meggido, and the literal translation “Hameggido”).
What comes next, is a question the texts don’t really address.
I hope thats enough fuel to get the debate rolling.
