I love vintage aviation or aviation in general but i suppose if you don’t and you live near an airfield then it may be a pain.Unfortunately for her Duxford was operating many many years before she moved in and if it had’nt been for people of many nations including her own flying from bases like Duxford she would’nt have been able to move here to moan.
Yes she is an essex girl and they would probably be insulted by the fact she is an essex girl[if they understood it LOL] :p
She basically used her position in the media to post her points of view and spout off inaccuracies that could’nt be defended by people who support aviation.
She could always move if she wanted to but i suppose it gives her something else to moan about a few times a year.
I think from my dim and distant memories from many years ago that she supported the building of the M11,now i wonder what the people who had their lives disrupted by that thought,[oh the opening of the M11 meant the old A11 road which runs past her doorstep was then reduced to a local use road instead of THE main route from London],so she’s not really selfish is she :rolleyes:

I assumed (never a good thing–JDK told me that) that because she lives close to Duxford she was a resident of Cambridgeshire.

And no Rob my thousanth post will be on a positive subject although with the rapidly growing feeling of disillusionment I have with this forum I did consider commiting forum suicide and saying what I thought to a number of people here and then flouncing out.

I don’t think she’s done anything in particular to harm ‘your beloved’ Duxford.
She wrote some rather ill informed pieces in her column in the newspaper that’s she is occasionally employed by but I think that’s about all.
It helped to sell the newspaper but that’s about all.

Strange as it may seem to you, being anti-aviation does not breach English law as it currently stands.
(It may be considered somewhat foolish though.)

There Ms Greer is as much entitled to her opinion as are you.
Also ,as she’s a resident of Cambridgeshire she’s actually entitled to more of an opinion than yourself who isn’t a resident of that fine county.

I’d also like to point out in closing that if writing ill informed tosh was a crime, then several members of this forum would be in court after the last few weeks here.
