Evenin’ all,
As there’s going to be a few forumites at the last DX show of this season, I was wondering if anyone was interested in having a meet at a local pub afterwards – I’ve no great bias, but the Red Lion at Whittlesford (just the other side of the M11 from DX) seems a popular location.
I’m not organising anything (heh) but a quick show of hands for interest?
Cheers

“It does need a good rubbing.”
Now now.
Regarding polishing the plaque. I did that to Johnny and Babe’s plaque once, then figured that it may be better to leave it to tarnish – or rather take a nice patina. The patina looks good now, a year on. Brass would need it every week, plus the black infill would need to be reapplied.
Glad to see its still in situ.
Thankyou very much Robbo, you could have photoshopped the tongue, and added a bit more chicken fillet 😀 😀 Anna 😉 😀 :dev2: :dev2:

A reclining Anna – that sets a benchmark.

Bloody hell, is it that badly tarnished already?
(The plaque, not her reputation!)
How long ago was that Rob? At leats the wood looks good on there.
So, thats the first month of the calendar. Rebecca>?

We’ll see what we can do Snapper.
PL – I’m sure we’ll manage a toast to absent friends. It’s been quite a year, eh? We did manage to meet, albeit briefly at Old Warden – I recall being distracted by some aeroplanes.. 😀
Cheers!

It’s around the back near the corner – it’s only been there since July. It commemorates the loss of a Belgian pilot – Flight Lieutenant Francois de Spirlet – who was killed in a take off accident at Duxford on 26th June 1942.

The Red Lion, Whittlesford
I hope you toast “Absent friends”; even though I haven’t met most of you, I count all of those I meet on this Forum as my friends.
The very best of luck to you James, I haven’t forgotten about the CD from Canada, but I am still working on the captions before I send it, hopefully before you depart in December!
Peter
PS Where’s the bench? I’ve never seen it!

I shan’t be there. Have a nice pint everyone. Please can I ask that one of you posts a snap of the bench for me? I haven’t seen it since Legends, and want to check it’s still ok / there. Cheers!

Sorry, a pair of occasional lurkers will be missing.
Have a nice time, chaps and chappesses and we’ll see most of you next year.

Bump.
No formal meet, just the usual suspects will meet (after the show – 5.30 onwards I guess – I’m not rushing for a queue of cars myself) fight about who is buying drinks, partake of roadkill platters, argue, and depart. So like the life of our own dear Queen. 😀

Red Lion sounds like a winner. And JN-4’s decided to head down from t’frozen Noorth for the day so I’ll drag her along too.

I’m sure folks will have other things to go to – but it’d be nice to raise a class of something reasonable to a good year, among friends. Or forumites…
