Are jet fighter becoming obsolete?

With the advent of a new generation air-to-air missiles. (both beyond visual range and helmet cued infrared missiles.) Are manned jet fighters becoming obsolete? Wouldn’t a F-4 be just as much of a threat as say F-16? (Especially supported by AWACS!) Now to some this may sound crazy but, doesn’t the guy with the longer range missile have the first shot 1st kill? Also, with helmet cued infrared missiles does a fighter really have to be that maneuverable?
