I have just been on holidays on Crete. While coming in to land in Chania, I noticed a row of T-33ยดs right at the western end of the runway.
Would these be of any interest for museum or individuals or are they too common?

Bolivia still has (as of one year ago) 16 fully-modernized (glass cockpit) T-33s in service… and not just as trainers, either.
No, they are the primary combat aircraft of the Bolivian Air Force.*

After a quick count through the latest wrecks and relics there are at least 19 T33’s in the UK not all in museums though.

re
I would guess if they were available, a dealer in the US would have had them by now, for spares at least?

old thread with some pics of the wrecks. I assume these are gone by now. Shame really, those cockpit panels and windscreen could have been recovered.

I believe they were scrapped ๐ Would also like to know if anything is left. Also, where did these come from? ex-BAF?
Yes, these were ex Belgian AF and were flown into Prestwick originally

But obviously these are still owned by the USAFM (so might the Greek one’s be?) so could go at any time, plus it does question what condition they are in does anyone know how long they have been parked there?

The T-33 was in service with the Greek Air Force (HAF) from 1951 – 2000, so presumably have been stored there since then.

There is quite a proliferation of T33’s in the UK thanks to the US military mutual defense aid programme so i would not think one would be hard to go by.

I wouldn’t mind a cockpit but I don’t think Greece will let these go!
