Hi all
Anyone know if these two parts are from an Aircraft ? The silver part has a sort of ball & socket end with the numbers 52632/3. The number is possibly not complete as there is a large gouge in the Aluminium. The second part has no numbers on at all.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Elliot
I’ve heard about a Lancaster to the East of Peterborough and a Mustang at Werrington but never a hampden.
Any Hampden experts out there that could help ?

Hi – Hampdens were based around Lincolnshire – not a million miles from Peterborough.

Thanks for the replies
A Hampden control rod. Now I look at it it does resemble a large version of what you see on a car carb. I found it just outside Peterborough along with the other part (Which had a rubber end on it) while looking for Roman coins.
Did many Hampdens come down in that area ?

The first part is from a Hampden, 52632H3 is part of the engine control rod (the end bit, hence the ball & socket ) .The second part is not familiar to me.

Parts
Yes they look like aircraft parts , ive been on many digs and the aluminium bit looks like part of a control rod of some sort, (i am guessing ) but i have seen and found simalar pieces in the past,
Tell me did you find it ,whilst out metal detecting one day, or during a walk ??
you could have a crashsite there
