Dear Gentlemen:
I am an Argentine researcher and writer, and I looking updated information and photos for some Argentine aircrafts that were brought to UK after the 1982 war.
Pucaras:
– FMA IA-58A s/# A-517, probably G-BLRP at RAF Bicester.
– FMA IA-58A s/# A-533. First at Middle Wallop, then tranfered to Boscombe Down.
Cockpit in private hands?
Main body and wings scrapped?
Chinook:
This Argentine Army CH-47C, serial AE-520, was captured close to the Governor’s residence in Stanley on 14 June 82 and returned to the UK on the 19th August 82. It was assigned a UK serial ZH257 and over the years has been in storage or in use as a ground instructional airframe. It was assigned the maintenance serial 9217M. The rear half of this Argentine Chinook was mated with the remains of a damaged RAF example, serial ZA704, and entered service in 2001. The front remains of AE-520 went back into storage or was scrapped.
Is this is story true?
Is there any current photo in any place?
MB-339
Argentine Navy s/# 0761 / 4-A-110, Was exhibited in Fleet Air Arm Museum after the war. I was in the FAAM las August but there is no info about it.

The ex Argentine A109s with the AAC/SAS are in the process of being replaced by the newer A109 Power model so what will happen with the old ones is anyones guess at the moment.
But the A109s are not exclusively used by the SAS as they are sometimes used as VIP shuttles as well.

The 4 8Flt A109’s(2 ex Argentinian, 2 bought from Agusta) are in fact being replaced by Dauphans not A109E’s

The G-Huey captured from Argentina was used in the 1987 James Bond movie The Living Daylights, its registration sticks out a mile

Just a coupple of questions. The SAS is part of the RAF or the BA?
Anothe information said that both choppers seem to be operated by 8 Flt. AAC. So, who is the right user of the choppers? Does anybody know? Thanks in advance and best regards,
Fernando

These photos were taken when I served with 825 Naval Air Squadron in the Falklands. The deck cargo of Pucaras was en-route to the UK aboard the Atlantic Causeway sister ship to the ill fated Conveyor.

Dear Gentlemen:
Thank you very much for all your answers. I will be researching about all Argentine aircraft in UK, so more questions will be posted by me in the next weeks, and I will probably be writting to each of you for futher information in particular examples.
Last August I was visiting several museums around UK, and I collected some information about the aircrafts exhibited in the most pupular and best known ones. I was at Middle Wallop, Duxford, Cosford and Yeovilton.
Thank you so much to every body.
Best regards,
