Whilst it’s not strictly historic I suppose, the last CL-44 is still parked up there.

A much shorter drive in the other direction will see you at Solent Sky in Southampton where you will find a spitfire and many other rare aircraft!

Or you could go on the train……..

Planemike

P.S. Army Air Corps Museum Middle Wallop is not too far away from Bournemouth.

Here is the website

If you are prepared to drive for a bit over an hour there is also the splendid Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton.

Have fun.

The Bournemouth air museum is a good one, if you have kids I took mine they can sit in many of the cockpits, as did I 😉 You dont get to do that much these days. There is also a Alice in wonderland theme park next to it, good for younger kids only, although bits of it reminded me of when the fun fair came to Craggy Island on Father Ted :D. The avaition club round the back of the airport is good for a coffe food etc, right at the end of the runway so you get to see a few a/c taking off etc.

Ma soeur habite à Bournemouth. Donc si personne en Angleterre peut vous aider, je le demanderai l’information concernant les musées, les collections, les fêtes aériennes et les avions anciens aux environs de la ville.
