Those three are exceptions. Things like Cradle and other such things just don’t do it for me. I feel that in their later collaborations Gentry Lee was allowed to have too much influence on the writing style and the quality of the stories was also not up to Arthur C. Clarke’s. Personally I feel that most authors wrrite better material on their own than they do with a co-writer.

I’ve always maintained that his Rama quartet of books were the peak of his writing,
Rendezvous with Rama
Rama II
The Garden of Rama
Rama Revealed
as for the books he wrote with Gentry Lee I’d rather he hadn’t bothered.
Like the last 3 of the quartet you praise?

A sad loss indeed, but I suppose it comes to us all eventually. I’ve always maintained that his Rama quartet of books were the peak of his writing, as for the books he wrote with Gentry Lee I’d rather he hadn’t bothered.

A sad loss, who hasn’t read one of his books or seen a film.:(
