As anybody used FS flying school

As anybody used the full version of FS flying school and what did you think!
Is it based on the American flying syllabus?

Thanks in advance!

FS Flying School

Thanks for the reviews! since I posted I have been contacted by the makers of Flying School to review it our selves at the FS user group I run, only started to use it yesterday so not yet got to grips with it! It’s a must to print the user manual so you can get the best out of it.

I’m a fan.

It’s greatly improved my FS flying – I don’t fly without it.

From what I understand, it is manufactured in Britain by British programmers. Some terminology is American. Instructors are British and American.

Instructor voice can be turned off, but the system still rates all of the pilot’s performance at the end of the flight and files it in different 2 log books. The information can also be displayed as a graph.

Simulation of failures can be set to the user’s preference and can be turned off completely.

But here are the thoughts of others…

Key Publishing’s PC Pilot Magazine gave it 90% and called it: “Brilliant”. They have put it on their cover CD twice.

Computer Pilot Magazine said it is suited to a budding pilot, current pilot or FS user.

Bob Sidwick – RC Simulations (located in the UK) said: “I find it quite brilliant…”

On their FS Flying School site, they list independent reviews, so readers can make up their own minds:

I hope this helps provide some of the information you were after.

Yes. I suppose you can get some help and information from it but frankly, I’ve no time for the American way of doing it. For instance, you know you’re getting too high or too slow and they know you’re trying to correct it but they jump in telling you’re too high and too slow!! Apart from that, they mess with the controls of your aircraft while you’re flying to make it more difficult.

It’s irritating in the extreme, and so is their attitude. Know all’s and big heads!!:(

As soon as I could I got away from that and learned from the manuals which I found are far better.

Rod Machedo – go home!
