Spent the last 3 weeks of September touring SE Asia, flying first from Glasgow to Dubai… some early morning shots through smoked glass,so quality not the best…………….
Dubai 13/9/07

After an 8 hour jaunt to Hong Kong, went up to the new spectators terrace the following day to start in earnest, unfortunately the place has been covered in thick mist for weeks, but, since i was here you have to make do with what you get (Again..quality not great)

Cheers again guys.
Widdy, the speccies would be fine for a smaller lens, most 737’s were shot around 275mm, the lumps and 340’s 200mm.the terrace is about equidistant from both runway thresholds.
Si: Have to have a look, there are more, but, as they were landing on the left runway it was shooting into the sun, and the mist was thicker on that side.
I’ll try upload some more a bit later in the week, very heavy workload on just now, just finished a 28 hour shift and am straight back off down south till thursday, may try get some done for the weekend, thanks again, glad they are of interest to some. (the quality does improve, not everywhere was as misty as HK)

Nice selection of shots there Scotty. What’s the speccies like …. are you reasonably close enough to not need a huge lens ?
I like the occasional boat in the backgrounds but alas it is not Kai Tak. That was a place and a half. These IGS approaches……
and here’s a shot taken from my special speccies of a morning …… standing on top of the red and white checkerboard you see in the above pic…..

Top stuff matey, when I was there a few months ago, I had the same horrible hazy conditions, fond memories of all those A/C 😉 Great trip report as well, looking forward to more photos!

Thanks guys
More later in the week, Drew, I arranged it all by myself, using various loco airlines, some flights as cheap as £5.
