I though we have this cleared up long time ago. Although the two have the same seeker “elements”, their seeker capabilities may be quite different. It’s all in the “messaging” circuitry and the DSP with the signal processing software. Just like two different cars with the same engine, although the analogy is more in electronics and software than mechanical.
