ATA Pilots

Are there any ex WW11 ATA pilots looking into this forum, or does anyone know of any survivers who would be willing to mail me?
My interest is purely historical as I used to work on some airframes which were flown in & out of our small airfield in Herts. after we had repaired/rebuilt them.
I am not writing a book, or any profit making articles, but would be delighted to find someone who may have flown ‘some of my workmanship’ all those years ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of the male ATA pilots were pilots who were too old for military service. The ladies were not restricted in the same way.

There may be some of the females around but I suspect that most of the males have passed on.

I was in touch with Lettuce Curtis a few years ago, she may be able to point you to some who are still existing. I contacted her through either Aeroplane Monthly or Flypast.
