Is there anyway of knowing if you can “process information quickly and accurately” to the required grade?
Could you explain more about the selection process please.
Cheers Cal.

It was as aldertraz states, previously a ‘course of study’ at A-level or equivalent was required by NATS (i.e. you could get in if you failed the exams). However, even this requirement has recently been removed.
If you have any other questions I do a lot of work with our Recruitment and HR departments, fell free to PM me.

No…there is no change. The stipulation was that you had STUDIED to A level or Higher if in Scotland. There is no requirement to have passed the exam.

You do NOT need A levels. The job is not about academic acheivement more it is the ability of the person to be able to process information quickly and accurately .
If you want more PM me…..

Just what do you need to become an ATC?
Had a look at there site and it said just GCSE’s, must need more then that for such a important job?

Whilst Class 1 (for ATC and Comm. Pilots) medicals are done at Gatwick, try speaking to a local Doctor rated to do Class 2 medicals. They are listed on CAA website and should be able to give advice.

Don’t give up straight away. An old mate of mine is an air traffic controller…and he had to have his colour vision checked by “lantern” method. Have a chat with the CAA they are really helpful.
PM if you wish.:)

ah i see,i cant pass those colour tests with the pattern of dots, but for example during college i use different colour electroinc resistors, without any problem, but hey these things happen!

Its more or less the same as class one for commercial pilots…

So yes, colour vision will be checked. If you can’t do the normal coloured spots type thing, you will be allowed to do a lantern test which some find easier.
