so what if it was modernized? would it be worth the effort?

The VM-T (Atlant) hasn’t been reused since the end of the 80s and the conversion projects of the beginning of the 90s lead to nothing.

there have been rumors that some one want to start a competitor to virgin galactic (not the mig/su “edge to space flights”) but a more of a space tourism thing..

so i assumed for money wise – people would rather modernize an old plane rather then make one from scratch

the atlant carrier was the best option from my opinion – it still works and a research center owns it with a private entity
