As posted on the news thread, this is a picture of the first flight of the T129, the Turkish development of the AW129 light attack helicopter.

How does it compare to the exisiting alternatives, such as the Apache, the AH-1, Mi-28, Tigre etc.? For example, the Apache is bigger and weighs twice as much as the T129, yet performance and weaponry seem similar. Does a smaller, lighter AH such as the T129, provide most of the capability of an Apache – particularly in conflicts such as Afghanistan – for a lot less money?
