On the way back from Stansted on Monday April 30th I called in at Duxford. After a good look around everywhere I started to head for the gate at 1730 ,very close to kicking out time .
What happened next really made my day . RW386 appeared ,did an unscheduled low pass and went straight into four loops and half-rolls ! I was almost the last person to leave , I felt air traffic were getting worried about this geezer out there on his own shouting to himself .
In my excitement I managed to get a few shots and one is now my desk-top.
Shortly after (May 7th ),RW 386 was sold to Biltema in Sweden and flew out later in the month. It seems that I was one of the very last few to see her perform in the UK and the pilot was taking his last chance to enjoy the aircraft in it’s element.
Are there any Spitfire registers that would like those final shots?
