Aurigny yesterday announced a new daily return service between Jersey and Stansted airport, with the direct service commencing on Sunday.
In a bid to cash in on the day-return business market, they will depart at 7.30 am from Jersey and return from Stansted at 6.40 pm from Mondays to Saturdays. A morning flight will depart at 11.10 am on Sunday and the flight time will be just over an hour.
Aurigny launched the route by offering seats from £88 return, inclusive of taxes, but refused to confirm how many seats would be available at that price on each flight. To be eligible for the cheapest seats, passengers must book at least three weeks before departure.

Looking at the timetable it seems as if it is a continuaton of the the Guernsey service so the routing will be GCI-JER-STN-GCI in the morning and GCI-STN-GCI-JER. For Stansted spotters the flight will be upgraded to an ATR 72 for the summer season.
To be honest I don’t see why Aurigny are operating this route, 4/5 years ago it was not viable, they pulled out the application. I suppose they are just keeping on the right side of the States of Jersey who were critical of the Aurigny buyout . Maybe i’m wrong in saying that but it just seems strange that Aurigny are bought out in June and by October they are expanding their Jersey network when they have never really been interested in an UK domestic network from Jersey. Anyway, return prices seem reasonable at £88.
