G-BMLC 200 series shed to leave the fleet tomorrow. Replaced by a pair of 300 series (hopefully this time painted in Aurigny colours). One is ex-Loganair and the other will come from BAC Express. The wet leased ATR72 for the summer will either be from DAT or from ‘another ATR operator from the same region’. ATR type rated pilots are currently being looked for by Aurigny.

Might just be a short term interim lease until the real second aircraft is ready.

OK thanks Saab, is OY-MUG the one being used for cargo then?

Mark L,
The registration is G-BPFN, I saw it this afternoon up at GCI. It is just white with the remaining under belly in the BA blue colour. Looks much nicer than -BMLC.

OY-MUG Shorts 360 leased from Scan Con to Aurigny according to the fleet listings site?

I saw G-BMLC last time I went up to LGW, was a treat to see a different airline of this sort. Shame really, another 360 taken from the skys. 🙁

Sorry I couldn’t reply sooner….been on holiday….Thanks for the information Wysiwyg.

Just discovered that the reason G-BMLC is going is because it has reached half its life and is due a very expensive overhaul.

yea mark i see Jamie fairly regular on the Jersey/Channel freqs and running about in the Trislander.
I’l b in contact sun RE the WRIVA 1st Anniversary fly-in to Leeds/Bradford, may well see you on the Channel Islands fly-in this evening!

No, they don’t run an hours system, or a ranking system.
Your just supposed to fly for Aurigny, no restrictions!

Don’t know anything about the Dinard or other Trislander routes. There should be a second Aurigny ATR72 coming over the winter to operate the MAN flights. Don’t know the Shed reg’s. One will stay in pax config while the other becomes a permanent freight dog. This info was straight from the flight ops department.
I have just taken a look at the Virtual Aurigny website. It’s really quite impressive. The thing that had me thinking was – if I was into flight sim (which I’m not) and wanted to join as a Saab pilot, would I have to be a trainee pilot!
regards

Yeah, www.aurignyvirtual.org
A nice little VA, with a lot of developments in the pipeline.
It just needs a few more members thats all!
By: EGNM - 24th May 2003 at 15:37
Mark L – Aurigny virtual is that the virtual VA?
Not bad is it really – get rid of one shed, and aquire 2 more + an ATR. Thought the ATR would be the DAT one. Is one of th shorts going to be perminantly kept in Cargo and one in pax config then rather than converting for the night mail runs?
By: Mark L - 23rd May 2003 at 22:36
Is the Shorts going to be G-BPFN, Loganairs current one, or one of their previous ones?
I’m trying to get the reg’s for the new Shorts to put into the Aurigny virtual system for tommorrow.

Oh thank goodness, G-BMLC is finally leaving. Hopefully the new two will be put in Aurigny colours as BMLC was a horrible looking aircraft and I believe had a few tech. problems. I knew about the ex-Loganair aircraft coming though not about the BAC Express aircraft. Sadly this will nearly replace the Trislander on inter island between GCI and JER with a reduced frequency.
Did you hear anything about routes wysiwyg? I heard Dinard was not in a safe position at the moment?
