A new project is heading south from Cairns QLD to near Brisbane QLD. A C-47 is on the move after being brought by a new owner, who is aiming to restore the old aircraft back to flying status. See more at https://www.facebook.com/CabooltureWarplaneFlightHeritageMuseum/posts/731734876912918

Still with a large element of doubt on that identity.

More than just scrap I’d say: http://www.mustangsmustangs.net/p-51/?survivors/serial/44-13954

That’s it, that rings a bell now. from what I recall, Dave ended up with a pretty bum deal on the DC3 – I don’t believe the reason for it going to worms was down to him, more the higher management involvement. I see the mustang is still registered – any news on its restoration progress?

It was 44-13954 G-UAKE “Da Quake”
He was also lead/involved with an aborted DC-3 project at Coventry as well.

Phew, thought I was imagining things! Whatever happened to that? I seem to recall it was largely little bits of scrap, but part of me thinks I saw a pic of him sitting in a cockpit? Think it was in flypast mid 90’s?

The name certainly rings a bell with regard to the P-51.

Wasn’t David previously at Air Atlantique? Do I recall he once had a lump of P51 wreckage? Or is that just my faded memory?
