Aussie Lanc 'George', Current FlyPast

Now, if one must perch one’s Lanc tail in the air, THAT is how to display it; I’d LOVE to see something like this done at the RAFM. Something like the ‘Finest Hour’ audio/visual thing they have in the BoB Hall, though not on quite so often each day! (The show is great, goosebumps raising stuff even, but it’s on too often per day, and is thus too disruptive to normal visiting)

Well done everyone concerned ‘Down Under’, that looks brilliant; Hendon, PLEASE take some sort of note will you? Pretty please? With S-Sugar on top?!

I suppose I should try to get down there and take a few pics of G-George as well as the 109 for the forum.

Just don’t hold your breath, Canberra is about 250 miles (400 km)from here and my weekends are booked until late March.

I have been told that the Lanc is part of an audio-visual display that is quite spellbinding, with anti-aircraft explosions, engine noise etc. Can’t comment as I haven’t experienced it yet.

Regards

I think a similar amount of money that was spent on the Australian display could quite easily work wonders on transforming the Halifax from a forlorn hulk to being on equal
display status to the Lancaster. Having said that I hope to see a
Stirling in my lifetime so maybe some effort could be poured into that. The apathy in the U.K to really achieving this and getting he likes of the Stirling and Hampden on display is amazing.
