Yeah, so maybe we ought to see how many Australians actually post here when they should be working (like the rest of us?;))
Flood.
What Aussies are there on this board? I think Glenn and Ja are, anyone else?

Once they get into the office, what they do there might be something else. There ought to be some sort of office hours to productivity ratio.

CNN… Contains No News…
Leave it to CNN based on their thin article you could read the following metrics several ways.
Australians now spend on average 1,855 hours in the workplace every year, just topping Americans who work on average 1,835 hours a year and beating Japanese workers’ 1,821 hours.
Those numbers could also mean the Japanese are more efficient etc etc. The data was pulled from several different countries which have many different ways of doing work.
It might be a good article … then again, it might not be. No peer review on the metrics so that makes it shakey at best. The difference between 1821, 1835 and 1855 is hardly dramatic. Just enough of a difference to suggest that one country might have more non-work holidays than the rest, etc. etc. Pretty thin.
Poorly written CNN garbage.
Possible junk science alert here.

“Aussies rank as hardest working beating Japanese and Americans”, eh?
Maybe it means that when it comes to beating Japanese and Americans, the Aussies work hardest at it?
Maybe they take a good run-up, brandishing a cricket bat held at a jaunty – yet practical – angle?

I believe I am the main reason Yanks are in second place. I only worked 100 hours last year. I have applied numerous times at the local Wal-Mart but I think they are rejecting me due to the fact that I am asking for 10 cents above minimum wage. Looks like I am going to have to forget about those 10 cents. I wonder if I can get paid in euros?
