Yes the Drover is airworthy, kinda different aircraft though. They did great work for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. I’ve had a flight in a Wilga too with no doors. It was absolutely awesome

Surprised to see a Nimrod there. Its rather a long way from Kinloss!

Great pics, is the Drover airworthy? Love the Wilgas, one of my favourite aircraft. Had a very low level flight in one in Poland while the pilot demonstrated crop spraying 😀 .

The Avenger- turns AvGas into real noise….
By: Spiteful21 - 21st March 2005 at 20:44
Hi Oz,
Yes to both. It was the first time I’d seen the Avenger and I was taken aback by the noise. Makes a T-6 sound quiet.

Great shots, the warbirds look superb in the sun (something, we don’t see a lot of!). The SeaFury, P-40 and Avenger are all lovely examples.

PZL 104 Wilga – Polish agricultural aircraft.
That anniversary Hornet has got to be one of the most gorgous paint jobs ever!!

Great photos. I never knew the RAAF had Hawks either.
Yes, both the middle and right photos in post 10 are Wilgas. They are amazing aircraft. One was based at RNZAF Wigram in about 1992 and used by the police for spotting dope crops in the bush. The aircraft can virtually hover, and the cops found it cheaper to run than a chopper. They make an amazing noise too.

Hatton,
i believe the aircraft is called a Wilga (sp) uesd as a glider tug among other things.

Anyone know what the last aircraft is in post 10. That has to be the most fun looking aircraft I’ve seen in a long while.
Thanks for the pictures Spiteful21. Much appreciated.
