Australian P-40 Kittyhawk sold to US

A report today has said that a QLD based P-40 Kittyhawk has been sold by its owner and will be shipped to new owner in US?

One less P-40 in Australia now.

This departure will make i recall only now left…. 2 flying regularly and 1 flying at times.

She was returned to the air after her belly landing.

For clarity, Allan Arthur’s P-40 is a -N.

Thanks, that saved my double-checking, I’ve got it (VH-ZOC) tagged as a P-40N-1-CU

I was going to suggest it was that one, Andy. Hopefully it’s back in the air soon – I don’t know if it flew after its accident a while back.

By my count that leaves Allan Arthur’s ex-RNZAF M, the Pay family’s ex-RNZAF E and Judy Pay’s F flying in Oz?

Phil, I take it you mean flying P-40’s only with your tally of three left in Australia.

There are a whole lot more being restored, some possibly to airworthy, but thats a while off yet.

Building new P-40’s is providing an industry and making the loss of one somewhat less significant.

Thanks for the update Daniel. Here’s to a healthy warbird restoration, buy, sell, trade marketplace.
