Australia's Anual Budget

On Tuesday it was announced by the Treasuer Peter Costello, that Australia is going to increase its defence budget to protect our boaders and shores! But to pay for this, Australia must pay more for perscription drugs! This is under serious debate in the upper house as both the Labour and Democrats don’t agree with the idealsthat the Liberal government have handed out!

So what has all this got to do with being posted here?
Well if you knew what the ADF has on there wish list you might say “Well where else are they going to get the money?”

The RAAF want:
12x RQ-4 Global Hawks
More money for AP-3C’s to speed up the lines (this makes sence since they are already in the front line overseas and we are left without an essential platform till either they get back or we get the next installment).
More money to speed up aquisition for the Hornet replacement ie. the F-35.
Another 12 J model C-130’s to replace the H model’s
And a suprise mention (though extreamly low key), development and sustainability of a CSAR squadron yet to be formed. Types are under primary evaluation.

The RAN want: New training helo’s to replace the squriels
UAV’s and or TUAV’s

The Army want: New training Helo’s
Replacment for the DHC-4
New planes to fioll the void left by the N-22’s and N-24’s
UAV’s and TUAV’s
