Well done to Air Atlantique for a great stand at the NEC Autosport Show. A front-on shot of a DC6 low over Baginton dominated it, and there was a superb Hunter F6 (?) cockpit. Plus a nice old Alvis car and some radials. Thanks to all.
The lovely Annette told me that it will cost £1.5m to get the DC6 certified for passengers. Good luck to you at AA, I hope you make it.

A big thanks to the Wolverhampton Aviation Group who brought along FGA9 XE597 and manned it all weekend at quite short notice! Cheers guys.
Tom.
I’m glad to be back at work today for a rest !
Thought the weekend went very well, lots of interest in the Classic Flight and we managed go get our cockpit repaint fund underway through some kind donations from the general public looking in the cockpit.
Must admit it was a lot of fun to see the kids (of all ages) faces when they sat in it, all were very interested and hopefully learnt something along the way.
All being well we’ll bring the cockpit along to the next open day at Coventry.

Although we would love to put seats back in the DC-6, it would cost a fortune, and we currently don’t have those kind of funds!
What we are trying to do is find a large corporate sponsor for the DC-6, to use it as the “Ultimate Billboard” flying around the UK and Europe. Anyone interested? 😉

Douglas DC6
From the comment redredwine made reading into it are Air Atlantique looking into getting the DC6 back inpassenger configeration?
It would be fantastic to get a ride in it but at a cost to quote £1.5 million to get certified is it worth it unless some one with pots of loot can help is it a nonthinker?
