The Harrier is one of the most widely known combat aircraft on the planet. This new upgrade done by Boeing gives it so much more capability than it previously had. I think it was a wise choice for not only the Marines, but Italy and Spain as well. The AIM-120 coupled with the APG-65 is a proven combination as evidenced by the F/A-18A/B and the F-4F (soon to be F-4E as well). The Harrier is now a true multi-role platform.
