Hi all,
I just wondered, with the european passion for aviation archaeology over the past 40 years, has anyone ever heard of the Japanese, or Chinese, having such a undertaking ????..
with all the Jap fighters that were in the home defence , i should imagine the losses were quite high, and wondered has anyone heard of aircraft recovery in Japan itself.. or is it illegal ??
just out of interest, i would love to find out ..

Having spent a few years in the country as a child, there is (or was) a good bit of open ground where debris could still be hiding.
Specifically, I’m thinking of rice paddies..as we’ve seen from other wet crash sites, a lot of wreckage could still be down there. Now whether it’s worth digging up could be another matter.
Likewise, there is some remote and mountainous areas.
