Aviation Film Posters

Presently I am searching through the loft for an original Battle of Britain Film poster that I seem to have mislaid.

It got me thinking if anyone else has aviation film posters that they have collected or saved that they are willing to share

Mark12 is your man for Battle of Britain Film posters….

What do you want? Large? Small? Front of house? Russian language? Mongolian? I’m sure he has them all!

Well not quite all, but I have amassed a substantial pile that need photographing and cataloging.

The golden years were ebay back around 2000 when one might see half a dozen from around the world in one week. Those sources seemed to have dried right up in recent years.

This week I dipped my two in the ‘Malta Story’ water… and immediately withdrew it. 🙂

No nothing like it Paul. I rather like the one you show an image off though.

Found myself reworking the original 1960s Battle of Britain Quad movie poster. An original will set you back around £600. Ouch!

Have you just touched up or started from scratch ?

The Battle of Britain poster I am still hunting for (and I hope to christ I havn’t thrown it) is a ghastly orange and black coloured poster showing german bombers attacking london. Not the most atractive artwork Ive ever seen from the film but still its a genuine article.

I remember Pearl Harbour well. A film that I thought was shot in a stunning way but sadly the story failed to live upto its hype.

How about this on ebay. If only I had the space to hang it 😎

Hi PeterW

Without looking I am pretty sure I have multiple copies of Memphis Belle as pictured below, they are only small daybills about 12 x 24 inches (approx), if you PM me your address I will send one to you but will be off the net for the next 5 days or so. I have all the Pearl Harbor posters including the 3 individual ones that join together to make a larger picture.

I also saw this on the net but it is very expensive

All the best Paul

I’ve kept a few aviation related posters from the last 10 years. Fly Boys, The Aviator, Pearl Harbour, Amelia spring to mind. My favourite by far is Dark Blue World.

I’d love a Memphis Belle and BoB but don’t even see reprints of them in cinema shops.

It is funny that this thread was just started as the poster below only arrived in the mail this morning! I worked in the cinema industry from 1990 to 2005 and have hundreds of movie posters, the only aviation one i can think of off the top of my head is Memphis Belle but there is probably more. Some older non aviation posters I have include Bridge on the River Kwai, The Longest Day, A Bridge Too Far, Bridge at Remagan, The Eagle Has Landed etc..

The BoB is a great design…

Somewhere, I have an original one from Always…it’s slightly transparent so it was well-lit when put into a display box at the theater.

Hanging in the garage, I have an original one for Fate is the Hunter, it’s in only fair shape, but I picked it up cheap.

I had a large poster of Spitfires (top) and Buchons (bottom) from Battle of Britain – no idea where it is, though! 🙁
