Moderator, please note that you appear to have posted the code of conduct intended for the Commercial Aviation forum.
Unless, of course, you wish us to only discuss airliners from now on 🙂

Is my sig okay?
Rob,
Try sending the Webmaster a PM asking him if it’s okay. I did that yesterday about my signature, & got a reply today. He just asked me to remove any mention of opening days/times for the museum. They were okay about the museum name & link.

It is rather blatant, leave the banner get rid of the accompanying text. 🙂
Old webby can’t complain about that then, he’ll never know until he clicks in it 😮

The following matches “Swiss Mustangs” information and is sourced from the Warbird Directory by Geoff Goodall.

As it is bedtime here and I suspect that Swiss Mustangs will beat me to posting a photo of this unique Mustang. JDK may even allow it is most distinctive of its breed!

But did the data plate survive?
Not sure, but if you want a Hurricane dataplate I could introduce you to a man who has some.

Hi all
have a copy slide of this 4-seat Mustang at home which I will scan tonight and post here.
A68-175 CA-18 Mk.23 c/n 1500; Delivered 04/50. Transfered to Tocumwal and stored. Struck off 01/59. Owned by Col Pay at Narromine NSW 1960-65. Transfered to Ed Fleming of Skyservice Aviation at Camden NSW 1965-67. To Canada as CF-WWH 01/05/67 to 1971. By ship to Vancouver and rebuilt as a 4 seater with a CF100 canopy. Registered in the USA as N64824. Was to be registered N5789, but not taken up. It did fly with this un-authorised registration however. The identity was transfered to an ex TNI-AU aircraft and the aircraft rebuild using other airframe parts. Still flown with the markings 413678 and named ‘Million Dollar Baby’. The owner is reported to have said that this new aircraft has no parts from the original A68-175.
Cheers

Now why do I know the name Bob Diemert? Some connection with The Battle of Britain?
By: duvec - 6th July 2004 at 10:07
“Is there confusion here with the multi-seater Firefly or did he convert several types of aircraft?
Bob Diemert was the name.
Mark 12,”
Thank you, Bob Diemert is the man. I will head to my books and see if I can find more information. I am sure it was a Mustang however my mind is always suspect! I shall contact Mr Geoff Goodall of this parish to see if he has further information as well.

In response to the thread within a thread I recall the conversion of a Mustang, in Canada, some years ago that could carry four (4)! It had a CF100 canopy fitted to provide the required clarity over the heads of all on board! For the life of me I can’t recall the name of the guy who did it however I do know he went on to “restore” a Zero for the CAF as it was then.
Maybe some Canadian, or other forum members can refresh my memory and provide photos as well.

We do a nice line in bottled water if that counts, other than that the only refreshment is when the canopy is opened prior to landing, unless it’s cold and raining then you just get rain fired at you at great speed.
