Aviation Hospitality

I know someone must have started a thread like this some other time… I’m just too lazy to go looking for it… lets see if we can’t find some more ‘other’ uses for aircraft.

My buddy sent these to me a couple months ago while he was still working in Haiti. Here’s a couple shots of an old LAN Chile -6 in Port au Prince. The Chilean UN contingent took her over and converted it into a bar on base. The engines are gone but she’s got a beautiful carved wooden bar, dance floor, patio and disco ball..

There’s also Argie ‘6 there serving the same purpose… only it has 3 engines and a fully functional cockpit.

How about lawn ornament… spotted this Vigilante in a mini-put at Subic Bay back in 2000

It’s a good subject I think! There was a Bristol Freighter somewhere in the southern hemisphere that’s being used as a B&B, I think that one was featured on this forum a while ago.

I’ll add this though: http://www.vc10.net/History/vikings_of_soesterberg.html
