The previously mentioned guide to the Nottinghamshire’s Airfields & Memorials is now available. Basic details about this FREE 48 page A5 publication and how to obtain a copy are available on here!
If anyone who posts on here is unable to get to the museum or the locations mentioned and they would like a copy; if you PM a postal address then I will make arrangements for a copy to be sent through.
At the moment the PDF version I have access to is rather large and I’m currently trying to get a lower resolution version from the County Council’s graphics designers. Once available I am also willing to email out copies if people let me have an email address.
The strap line on the front cover says “Remembering our Aviation History” and I hope that people will be interested in obtaining a copy of the booklet and thereby learn a few more details about Nottinghamshire’s aviation history.
Also thanks to those about these parts who helped with its compilation! 🙂

 Sorry about that jw – if you PM me an address I’ll check my lists and get a copy sent off to you on Monday! We have had a few copies damaged before delivery into Salop, but I wasn’t aware of any not being sent off!! 😮
Likewise Calvertonps sorry about the missing venue, which has now been corrected – well done on the first post as well!! 😉

Will the Calverton Folk Museum be added to your list?
We are open on the 26th June 2-4 and have 12 copies.
Also open the last Sunday of each month or by appointment.

Just heading off on another delivery run for this free publication so I thought I’d post a quick update:
After this morning’s trip to the PO more than 100 individual copies have now been sent out all across the world.
Around 2,500 copies have been left at the various locations detailed here.
Lots of interesting feedback and ‘fresh’ information received.
Only just over 7,000 copies left to circulate!! 😀

We do – so far 2 already to Canada and 1 to Australia; plus circa 30 posted to individuals in the UK!
Still trying to secure financial support to cover further anticipated postal costs via this scheme!
Starting to deliver to Nottinghamshire Libraries later this week!
There’s also a PDF version available for emailing purposes!! 🙂

There’re still around 9,000 stored in Hangar 1 at the museum so do worry about them running out – ‘for the time being!’ 😀
It’s a pity you don’t post overseas.

:diablo: Just make sure that everyone has a copy!! 😀

Calling Mr Smith from Coventry – a supply of booklets was left at the Aeropark this lunchtime ready for the BAPC Meeting next Saturday!! 🙂
Thanks TO looking forward to getting mine.
Trouble is will I be able to resist being rude by reading it during the meeting? :diablo:

Thanks for that – it’s taken a while to get there but hopefully it’s been worthwhile – now we’re starting to see that there’s more in Nottinghamshire than Robin H***! 😀
I quite agree about further support from other councils – at least in these parts North Kesteven District Council also supports aviation; I believe they’re involved with the Whittle celebrations at RAF Cranwell this weekend! 🙂

Just returned home to find my copy of Aviation in Nottinghamshire in my post. Had a quick look through it and it appears excellent. Thank you for sending me a copy.
