I´ve got a day to kill in Vienna later this week and thought it would be a good idea to use the time to see some aviation museums while there. After a frantic google period, I´ve only found two candidates to visit, and neiter of them seems to have a lot on display (aviation wise that is!).
The first one seems to be the Technisches Museum, Wien and the other is Flugzeug-Oldies. There must be more aviation related things out there. Does anyone know where??
Failing that, does anyone know of a friendly small club airfield close to Vienna city where to spend the day?

there you wouldn´t find someone so easy, and you can´t get in without authorisation, because thats one of the biggest barracks in austria.
i found one link from this group in tulln (next to langenlebarn). i think when you ask one of them it´s possible to get in the barracks.

Spelling
If you Google with the correct spelling, it comes up, and with quite a bit of data on other Austrian groups.

I was unable to find anything on google regarding the Fligergruppen rot-wiess-rot and the Wien-Schwechat samlung. Is there any information in the book regarding airframes in these collections?

From Bob Ogden’s “Aviation Museums and Collections of Mainland Europe” (Air Britain, 2006) there is:
Fliegergruppe Rot-Wiess-Rot, Langenlebarn;
Flugzeug-Oldies, Wien – you know of this but Bob said “closed for building development”;
Heeresgeschichtliches Museum, Wien;
Technishes Museum Fur Industrie Und Gewerbe – you know of;
Wien-Schwechat Sammlung, Schwechat.
