I think the answer is correct, actually

The Short Sperrin first flew on 10 August 1951, whereas the HP80 (Victor prototype) first flew on 24 December 1952.

He is talking about the valiant. He is right the Valiant flew in May 1951

Which was Britain’s first four-jet bomber?
First to fly or first in service? In either case it was the Valiant not the Sperrin.

I’m going off in a huff (a small, inefficient E European car)

You know what? You’re right!

The Short Sperrin first flew on 10 August 1951, whereas the Valiant first flew on 18 May 1951.
